Latin America's Film & Television app landscape has demonstrated varied trends in the second quarter of 2024, as per the latest data from Sensor Tower. Here's a glimpse into how the top five apps have fared during this period.
Max: Stream HBO, TV, & Movies observed a consistent rise in revenue, peaking at $2M in mid-June. Downloads saw a high in early April with over 2M but gradually decreased to around 1.3M by the quarter's end. Weekly active users surged from approximately 11M to over 19M, showcasing significant user engagement.
Disney+ revenue fluctuated, with an impressive leap to nearly $2M in the final week of June. Downloads initially dipped to around 450K in late April but rebounded, reaching over 1.1M in late June. Active users experienced a notable increase from 8.4M to over 11M in the same month.
Globoplay: Novelas, séries e + saw its revenue hover around $700K-$800K with a slight dip in late May. The downloads topped at around 384K in mid-April and later saw an uptick to 341K by June end. Active users peaked at around 6.5M in late June after a moderate decline in early quarters.
Star+ experienced a decreasing trend in revenue, starting at $648K and sharply dropping to $81K in the last week. Downloads also decreased from 673K to around 26K. Weekly active users began at approximately 11M, with a slight decline to 8.8M by the quarter's end.
Crunchyroll maintained a steady revenue between $450K and $555K. Downloads reached their peak at 553K in late April and ended the quarter with a strong 563K. Active users showed a gradual increase from around 3.5M to over 4.1M.
